Family and Friends Matching Gift Programs and how to participate:
- Ask your employer if they participate, or would like to participate in a Matching Gift program.
- Obtain matching gift forms from your employer’s human resources or payroll department.
- Complete the donor section of the form and submit it along with your check to:

- The SNMOW will process the form and certify that it has received your donation. We will then forward the form to your employer.
- After approval and processing by your employer, the matching gift checks are sent directly to the SNMOW to match your already generous gift.
Many companies do not have a Matching Gift program but will still match your donation. Don’t be afraid to ask your employer for the matching gift.

Retirement Plans
An increasingly popular and tax-wise way of making a bequest is to name Strafford Nutrition as a beneficiary of your retirement plan. You can do this by simply requesting a beneficiary designation form from your plan provider. You can name Strafford Nutrition to receive all of the plan’s assets or just a portion (%) upon your death, dividing the plan among family, friends and/or other charities. There are tax advantages to making a charity the beneficiary of a retirement plan. As a non-profit organization, would pay no tax on the proceeds. For this reason, some savvy planners name Strafford Nutrition (and/or other charities they hold dear) as the beneficiary of their retirement plans, leaving all the other assets in their will to friends and family who can receive "non-retirement assets" such as a house, investments, car, etc. without having to pay income tax.
Your plan provider may ask you for our 501c3 number to add the program as a beneficiary. You can contact us at the main office to get this so we may also thank you for your generosity.
